Texifornia Tamales Destiny, we definitely need to get you back in a vehicle!

Destiny Davis Yup. Hopefully the insurance shenanigans get resolved soon, we can get the teen a car, and I can have my car myself soon.
May 1, 2013 at 1:58 pm
OK, so another thing... one of our new Chef's has been ousted from his employee housing at one of the local camps. This was expected, but it happened quicker than anyone expected. This guy is amazing, really responsible, and is looking for an affordable 2bdr rental in the area (from Springs to Twin Peaks, but local to Blue Jay would be best). He'd prefer a house, but a condo isn't out of the question.
Since we have so many great realtor friends we thought we'd put this out there. Please message us if you've got one or know of one that's not lake-side expensive. Agents, I'm sure that Allan wouldn't mind letting you rep it if you've got one that works.
Texifornia Tamales And we'd love to hear of more if anyone else knows of anything.

Hi, All! We're looking for a little help... We just installed these really cool blackboards on the front of our restaurant and we're hoping to find a seriously creative artist to help us keep them fresh. If you know anyone that fits that bill and wants to make a little part-time scratch we would love to hear from you/them.
This might be perfect for a student or anyone with skills and a little free time. We're looking at probably 5-10 hours/week.
Nickie Scott I will ask around :)

Allright, don't normally go in for this kind of cheese, but, well, we've got three kind of amazing brothers (and one pretty great sister) between us, so we're gonna go ahead and give them this.
Now that she's friended us here on FB, we want to give a hearty and public welcome to Crystal Upton Stone, just one of the brilliant new chefs who is joining the Texifornia crew!
Crystal Upton Stone Awe, you sure know how to make a gal feel welcomed! Even after her square burritos!
April 16, 2013 at 6:05 pm
Micki Smith I love you and your square burritos!

Remember, all, it's FREE KOLACHE DAY at the Texifornia Tamale Company. Stop by and get a 100% free coffee and kolache. A great way to start almost any day. Offer good while supplies last.
Jennifer DeShon Those were delicious!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! They fuel a day of rock climbing nicely!!! :)
April 12, 2013 at 2:54 pm
Everyone local, listen up... we're doing these new breakfast things that you've never had and which sound odd and exotic. Kolaches. You've seen them talked about here. Now it's time to come in and try one. Seriously.
We're going to make it easy. Tomorrow morning, from 730 - 1030, for as long as they last, we're going to give them away for free. Yes, that's right, we're just like that guy your counselor warned you about in high school: your first one is free.
Kolaches are awesome grub and we really want these to be the hit that they deserve to be. Come see why, on us. Oh, we'll have great coffee too so, you know, more goodies to entice you.
Texifornia Tamales If you've already sampled and just want to help us out, then please share this message so that your friends find out too!
April 11, 2013 at 9:25 pm
Manuel Gomez Would love to try one if I come home this weekend
April 11, 2013 at 9:26 pm
Texifornia Tamales Cool, Brendan! You should give us a call if you're coming. Pretty please!
April 11, 2013 at 9:29 pm
Manuel Gomez Will do Texifornia Tamales
April 11, 2013 at 9:32 pm
Texifornia Tamales So Micki Smith tells me that the kolaches generally arrive around 7:45. So, besides wanting to say hi to Miss Micki, you might want to hit the snooze button one more time.
April 11, 2013 at 9:51 pm
Any of our extraordinary homebrew friends participating in this?
Texifornia Tamales shared Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar's photo.
Gary Trousdale Great job of photo-bombing by the dog on the right!
April 10, 2013 at 1:43 pm
Texifornia Tamales Well, exactly.
April 10, 2013 at 1:44 pm
We were just thinking about our friends at Sweets 'N Stuff, over on the highway across from Lake Arrowhead Village. Chris and Nickie are the ones that are making our kolaches for us, as well as providing the base for a number of our desserts. If you happen to be that way and in need of maybe the best bagel this side of New York City, or maybe just a great piiece of home made candy, you should totally stop in and see them. They're great people making great stuff!
Jones Jamieson I agree TOO inexpensive, and really good!
April 10, 2013 at 11:42 am
Texifornia Tamales Thanks, Adonna Connell, for the share on this. Love to help the great mountain businesses.
April 10, 2013 at 12:39 pm

Mmmmmm. Kolaches! Come get your this morning, 1/2 price deliciousness to introduce one of our favorite things! You're not going to find a tastier breakfast anywhere.
Why will tomorrow be a great day? Kolaches, that's why. Starting tomorrow, we'll be offering our new, amazing grab-n-go breakfast. If you're one of the lucky ones that got to sample these last week, they're finally here... if you've never heard of a kolache, don't be afraid. They are DELICIOUS. Slightly sweet soft rolls, filled with goodness. From a simple smoked sausage to brisket, egg, queso fresco and mole.
Grab a fat kolache and a coffee for the drive down the hill... we're shooting for right at 7:30am, so please come see us! Limited quantities while we kick this off, so come early.
Jones Jamieson They are super good!
April 8, 2013 at 8:23 pm
Alex Colunga breakfast?? finally!
April 8, 2013 at 9:56 pm
Texifornia Tamales Alex, yes! In a limited fashion. It's a quiet roll-out as we work out the kinks, but damn they're good. Oh, and by the way, we miss you. Seriously.
April 9, 2013 at 3:58 pm
Alex Colunga well i definitely need to drop by soon, hope all is well with you guys!
April 9, 2013 at 7:23 pm
From my apparently amazing, minor-superhero brother, Mike Smith, one of the funniest things you'll see today.
So, we're considering hosting a weekly 'Game of Thrones' viewing party for the HBO-deprived. Admission would, of course, be free (can't charge for tickets to someone else's party, after all) and we'd serve up great food and drink in the meantime.
Obviously, we have a limited amount of space in the area with the big screen, but we're wondering what the interest might be? Anyone interested?
John Ferdon Love to but we're sorta in Nassau right now. Rum is most certainly NOT gone. Not for lack of trying. :p
April 1, 2013 at 6:25 pm
Texifornia Tamales LOL. Sorta in Nassau. Worse things, I guess.
April 1, 2013 at 6:27 pm
Destiny Davis If we weren't out of the country I'd be there, even though not a fan.
As it stands, I'm trying to drink all the booze, just for you. :)

All of Summer in a Day
by Skye Smith
(with a little help from Dad)
I eat fruit as I fish on the lake
The boat rocks, my bobber still
The sweet juice of the grapes
Stains my fingers red
I cycle with my friends
My feet pump, my wheels spin
The grease on my chain
Stains the cuffs of my pants
I lick ice cream in the park
The wind is still, the sun pours down
My treat is cold and rich and dark
The chocolate drips from my chin and stains my shirt
I scrub in the tub and I smile
Water sloshes, bubbles pop
My summer’s day is dirt and grime
And a clean, cool peace of mind.
Samantha Allen-Newman Extremely well written. It very clearly conveys an image to the reader, many of whom have had similar experiences (if not identical) to the ones described in the poem. I was easily able to identify with this poem. If I had to give it a grade, I would give an A for artistic expression, an A+ for written prose and an A+ for use of verbs and adjectives. EXCELLENT JOB!
